Calm and grounded care through the liminal spaces
Serving clients in the Portland area
Howdy! I’m Chrys (they/she), a teacher, guide and facilitator of anchoring during times of transition. My doula support is rooted in trauma-informed community based care. I specialize in serving Queer, Neurodivergent, and Polyamorous families.
What I Do
Birth Doula Care
Holistic evidenced based support for your reproductive health process, physical emotional and informational guidance as you chose your own path.
Postpartum and Lactation Care
Hands-on, heart-forward support in the weeks and months after birth — feeding help, emotional care, and a steady presence while you find your footing as a new family.
Bereavement and Recovery
Grounding and support through the unexpected losses and transitions we don’t always chose. Repoductive loss, physical recovery after surgery, or contextual support after a traumatic event.
How I support you
I offer compassionate, attuned support for individuals or families in transition.
Whether you're bringing a new baby home, navigating the fog of early postpartum, or simply need someone steady beside you while you transition to a new mindbody after a major change, I'm here to hold space — without judgment, and at your pace.

Beyond just CPR, I am a former intermediate level emergency medical technician and maintain BLS certifcation which includes: CPR for adults, infant, choking, first aid, poisoning, and stop the bleed components.
-
Beyond my bachelors degree as a pre-medical student I attained a Master’s in Health Sciences and focused my studies on community health and infant and young child nutrition. I was an assistant for breast/body feeding research for the Foundation for Mother Infant Lactation Knowledge and spent a year as an apprentice Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant.

I attended my first birth 23 years ago before the term doula was used widely. I was the birth partner for my neices and nephews births and have served over 40 families as a postpartum doula, lactation counselor, sibling doula, and grief/loss doula. During these 23 years I have watched the changing experience of credentialing and insurance provision change alot. What doulas and community health workers provide is non clinical support to individuals and families through major life events that have an impact on their health and well being, certification and competency are not the same thing. I am happy to discuss why and how I have chosen my alternative path to birthwork and how I continue my education to stay up to date on essential skills for client care.
